Pre-Nursery Playgroup

The Pre-Nursery Playgroup programme is a less structured purposeful play. It allows the children to think during the play. We make sure that these play are fun and meaningful to the children. We ensure that every child will understand the objective of the play when it is over. Thematic activities & learning materials from Paramount Learning foster the different developmental aspect of the children.
Starville Pre-School uses Paramount Learning, an early childhood programme based on the theories of Vygotsky(1896-1934). Children will pick up language, numeracy skills and social skills through the integrated process of paramount learning.
Paramount Learning modules covered at the Pre-Nursery Playgroup level:
Artographics
Cultivates the essential skills required both for writing and creative artistic expression. We teach them about the composition, rhythm and colour. This allows the children to expand their creativity as they are exposed to more of drawing and colouring.
Construction
Develops mathematical language, a determined spirit and a focus mindset. Children explore the structure of objects, plan and share their ideas. Through the process of exploring and planning, the child will be more focused and instill a 'never give up' spirit.
Expressive movement
Develops emotional intelligence, communication skills, creativity and productive imagination through body movements, actions, facial expressions and music. These ensure that every child will be more open to share their emotions with their families, teachers and peers rather than keeping all to himself/ herself.
